Two Beaconfire Clients Receive Honors As "Hottest" Nonprofit Web Sites
Falls Church, VA, September 15, 2003 —
Easter Seals and Heifer International, two long-standing clients of Beaconfire Consulting, have been named "hottest" nonprofit Web sites by The NonProfit Times.
After evaluating the Web sites of over 200 organizations, the publication selected this year's six "hottest" sites. According to the journal, a site was judged based on "how its message was conveyed with importance placed on availability of materials, rotating content, ease of navigation and unique features."

Beaconfire assisted Heifer International in launching the first Heifer online gift catalog in 1997 and has since served as a creative, technical, and marketing partner for the organization. Each year, Heifer and Beaconfire have collaborated to deploy new Web features, functions and marketing campaigns. The improvements have expanded the organization's online services and improved constituent experience.
Most recently, Beaconfire created a new design for the Heifer Catalog (catalog.heifer.org), developed new honor cards, added a "Remember Me" function for repeat buyers, and assisted in developing Heifer's first Flash "Moo-vie".
Similarly, Easter Seals selected Beaconfire in 2001 to help create an enterprise Web Strategy for its national headquarters and over 90 affiliates. Beaconfire helped the organization select an enterprise eCRM application and served as the strategic and technical advisor during the implementation of the new system. During this period, Beaconfire also led Easter Seals through a visual and accessibility Web site redesign.
Following the launch of the system in 2002, Beaconfire has served as the organization's online marketing and fundraising partner using the system to build constituents. Beaconfire worked with Easter Seals to conceptualize, develop, and market the "Palmer Story" campaign and Flash movie. The NonProfit Times article describes how the movie helped double site traffic and quadruple the number average daily donations.
